M's Lightweight Grid Tech Fleece 1/2 Zip
Fit and finish on the pullover are fantastic. The fleece interior is very comfortable and the ripstop panel feels sturdy. The fit for me was spot on.
Where the pullover could be improved is in the ripstop panel placement. If using this for upland bird hunting, one is very likely wearing a game bag vest over this. Ripstop panels over the shoulders and around the collar would improve abrasion against straps and buckles. Ripstop panels along the outside of the forearms would help improve abrasion resistance walking through tall grasses and crop fields.
Note there are no blaze panels on the backside of the garment, which is not possible to see on the item page. If wearing the pullover for big game hunting in states that require minimum blaze orange area front and back, this garment will not meet those requirements on its own and an orange vest will still be needed, negating the benefit of the blaze/tan color combo.
That said, it is a great garment and I would still buy it knowing what I know now. I would love to see the ripstop panels extended over the shoulders and forearms!
This is not part of my rating but for additional feedback, a stand-alone migratory/upland bird version with a lined pass-thru pocket on the backside and another in front for shells would be awesome as well!
Excellent piece to add to my gear. Versatile as an outer or mid layer. PLEASE put them out in camo for waterfowl!!!
This is an awesome early season sweatshirt up here in the northeast and will be a great mid layer later in the season. Very well made with great materials.
