A friend gave me a pair of Duck Camp “Brush Pants” in October 2022. I love em, wear em almost everyday for work, and I’ve purchased a pair myself.
I’ve worn a pair of “Sawbuck Brush Pants” from First Lite since Christmas 2020. I hunt woodcock in the Mid-Atlantic region and briars are everywhere.
When I saw the DC “Guide Brush Pants,” I decided to roll the dice and order a pair (10/24) because I wanted a slightly heavier and warmer pair of pants.
I wore the DC “Guide Brush Pants” every time I hunted this past November (10 times), and the “Waxed Canvas Ripstop” ripped almost immediately. The horizontal seams just below the knees and the horizontal/vertical seams at the bottom hems seem to be the weakest links. The pants also aren’t very briar resistant when compared to the “Sawbuck.” You can feel every poke with these things.
The photo shows a pair of four year old “Sawbuck” pants on the left and a three month old pair of DC pants on the right. There’s only an $11 difference between the two of em.
Feel bad leavin a negative review, but these pants aren’t cheap and people need to know what they’re really capable of handling.
