Duck Camp Dog- Cabela

Cabela

Cabela is a straight up waterfowl dog. And she’s damn good at it. Cabela mainly hunts the marshes and management areas in Western New York as well as the big water of Lake Ontario. She prefers to pick up geese, maybe because that was her first bird at 7 months. She finds teal to be almost too easy, so she often grabs two at a time! At six years old, Cabela has made the rounds so she only does training/conditioning once or twice a week with her owner, Adam Prizzi. Those two have a very special relationship, and they even witnessed a total lunar eclipse laid out in a cow pasture in central North Dakota in 2014 – just the two of them. They shot a strap full of wigeon, gadwall and one redhead in 20 minutes right after the eclipse. It's safe to say this dynamic duo is “lights out.” To Cabela, the goose guru!
